The name
Golden light is not just about sunset, it is about how your photographs feel. Warm, honest, and timeless. No matter the time of day, and no matter where in Jamaica your story unfolds.
About the work
Jamaica photography sessions, what to expect.
Golden Light Photography Jamaica is based in Montego Bay and photographs island-wide. Negril, Ocho Rios, Port Antonio, Discovery Bay, and wherever your trip takes you. Most clients are visiting from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, or Europe and are planning their session before they arrive. The process is designed to be simple from the first message to the final gallery.
Sessions are available for couples on honeymoon or anniversary trips, newly engaged couples wanting engagement photography in Jamaica, families of all sizes from newborns to multi-generational reunion groups, clients expecting a new arrival who want to document this milestone in Jamaica's extraordinary light, and anyone planning a surprise proposal. Every session type is available at beaches, resort grounds, private villas, and iconic locations across the island.
The best time of day for photography in Jamaica is the hour before sunset, what photographers call golden hour. The light at this time is warm, directional, and deeply flattering. It is the window that separates good photography from great photography, and every session is planned around it. Early morning sessions are also available for families with young children or clients who prefer a cooler, quieter beach.
Montego Bay is the most popular base for visitors to Jamaica and offers the widest range of photography locations. Half Moon Resort's private beach, the grounds at Round Hill and Tryall Club, the historic Rose Hall Estate, and the quieter villa beaches along the north coast. I am a preferred vendor at Half Moon, Tryall Club, Rose Hall, and Round Hill Resort, which makes access at these properties straightforward.
Negril is home to the most dramatic photography locations on the island. Seven Mile Beach, where the west-facing shore produces the most extraordinary sunset light in Jamaica, and the Negril cliffs, where limestone drops into deep Caribbean blue. These are my most-requested locations for couples sessions, engagement photography, and surprise proposals. I am a preferred vendor at Rockhouse Hotel on the cliffs and Idle Awhile on the beach.
Sessions start at US$500 for the first hour, with no limit on delivered images. A 50% retainer secures your date and the balance is due in cash on the day. Galleries are delivered within two weeks, with rush delivery available within 48 to 72 hours for clients who need images before leaving the island. Full details are on the pricing page.
