Port Antonio is the most dramatically beautiful part of Jamaica and the least visited by mainstream tourism, which is exactly what makes it so extraordinary for photography. The landscape here is more rugged, more lush, and more varied than anywhere else on the island. Jagged coastline, dense rainforest descending to the sea, sheltered coves with crystal-clear water, and the famous Blue Lagoon all contribute to a setting that produces images unlike anything available on the north or west coasts.

The Trident Hotel is the most photographed property in Port Antonio, a boutique castle hotel set directly on the rocky coastline with extraordinary architectural character and dramatic sea views. Frenchman's Cove, with its freshwater river running onto a white sand beach, is one of the most unusual and beautiful beaches in Jamaica. Blue Lagoon, Jamaica Palace, and the villa properties throughout the Portland hills all offer sessions with a character that cannot be found anywhere else on the island.

Port Antonio is approximately three to four hours from Montego Bay. A travel fee applies for east coast sessions and is confirmed at booking. I travel to Port Antonio for clients who want the extraordinary landscape of this part of the island, and the results consistently justify the journey.
